Stained Sunflower

I really love stained glass and have always wanted to make my own piece.
I've seriously thought about it for a long, long time.
I also, thankfully and sometimes, am smart enough to know I would have no fingers left if I tried it.

Wow was I excited to see the stained glass pieces from this months collection at Whimsy.

I colored it several times (which I never do because I believe art is meant to be what it is meant to be)
But...I wanted it to have that stained glass effect and to do that, I wanted to do water color.
I don't do alot of water color so I worked on it many times before I was happy and there was still paper left :D.

My medium was Derwent intense pencil.

Light Your Way

To me, a Lighthouse is a Beacon.
Weather that be of Hope or simply to show the way, it's always a positive beacon.
Sometimes, we all need a little Light.
This week, I have an image from Whimsy Stamps and DoveArt Studios called

I love this scene; the grass, water and even the stone in the distance.
It's so soothing to me.

Hope you have a little beacon in your day.

See ya soon,

Cute to da Bone

Hello You

I've cut out a back using the Card Builder Window.
The Sun also comes from that kit.I added a pop foam to it and with the outer
stitched piece, I cut to create a bottom border.
This guy is super fun.

Puppy Love

I have more sweetness today with this little darlin' and her pup.

This is adoringly called
Nose to nose

I've colored my image in copics, trimming around her feet and ribbon to cut her out using the Basic Stitched Oval Die . Using the next size up, I've cut out a frame using some of the papers from Whimsy Paper Door. Just between us, this paper is some of the most gorgeous I've seen.

Next I've taken a glue pad to the stencil called
Beaded Curtain and poured on some bling.

I cut out a base using the Envelope Edger Die Set.
Oh yeah, did I mention that matches with a piece from the Straight Edged Die Set
that I've added to the outer edge.
Then I placed all my layers down
I totally love the effect using the Envelope Edger Die Set..
All papers used are from the Whimsy Paper Door

Sand Castle

This gorgeous Sand Castle is so detailed.
Who wouldn't want to sculpt this masterpiece?

This is one the latest DoveArt Studios images jumping over to Whimsy Stamps.

The picture doesn't capture all the waves and clouds but I used some copic C4, on the sky to give some outline, then added Copic opaque white using a Qtip to fluff in some white tops.
Again, using the Copic Opaque White, I popped in some crashing waves.
What a blast to make. I can hear the ocean now.

Shaker Maker

Shaker Cards are so popular now and honestly, I struggle with them.
Whimsy Stamps has come out with a new line called Shaker Makers.
And that's what they do.
Instant Shakers.

Can you see the stitching in the blue frame piece?
I've added some ric-rac by using the wavy piece from the new Straight Edger Die.
I fussy cut around the outer edge to give it a genuine look.
Finally, the papers, they are all part of the Flourishing Blooms Collection.
